MEDICAL EXAMS @ SLEC - US Spousal Visa
We received an Email from NVC about our case being forwarded to the consulate in Manila. Yipee! It's like seeing sunshine after a month-long rain.
My interview appointment was May 14, 2015. I know for a fact that I can't come to the interview without undergoing the medical exams. So, I prepared myself and my requirements to start the nerve-wrecking medical exams ever!!!hahaha!
These are the things I prepared for the medical:
1. SLEC online registration form filled out and printed a copy.
2. Medical fee of $245 which u need to pay in peso. The rate depends on the exchange value provided by USEM.
3. Copy of the interview appointment letter.
4. 4 passport size photo
5. Photocopy of the biographical data of passport.
Others:
1. Previous xrays
2. Immunization records
Tips:
1. Eat full meal before the medical. The guard won't allow food inside.
2. Come early. Around 5:30 - 6:00 am is the best time to be there.
3. There are numerous examiners that needs further testing like sputum. You will experience significant delay if you do, so I strongly suggest not to book a 2-way flight if your coming from the province. But if your are 100% confident you'll pass it's ok so you can save on airfare.
4. If you really are excited to leave or in doubt of your health (specially smokers and suspicious of TB), take the medical exams in advance, preferably 2-3 months before the embassy interview. The medical is valid for 6 months.
5. Bring jacket (its cold inside) and wear comfortable clothes. I was wearing jeans when the doctor asked for chicken pox scar and have some in my legs. I had real hard time pulling up my jeans.
