Filing a Petition for your Filipina Wife (US Spousal Visa)

So there...I am now officially and lawfully Mrs. Claffey.  It was a simple celebration shared with our families and closest friends.
A week after our wedding, my husband flew back in the US and we started the petition.
And so this is how we started our journey.....

These are the forms and document we submitted to USCIS.

Husband:
1. Form I-130 Petition for Alien Relative
2. Filing fee (ours was $420. Cheque preferably for easy tracking)
3. Cover Letter ( mention how the relationship started, his employment, list down items included in the package your sending, indicate date and signature.
4. Marriage Certificate (local civil registrar copy is fine if NSO copy is not available)
5. Divorce documents if previously married or Death certificate if deceased
6. Birth Certificate (all pages) or passport (photocopy)
7.  2 Passport size photo (write full name at the back and should be placed in plastic)
8. Form G325-A signed and dated (clip your picture on this form)
9. Proof of bonafide of marriage (wedding photos, joint bank accounts, real properties and etc.)

WIFE:
1.  Legal separation documents if previously married or Death certificate if deceased
2. Birth Certificate
3. 2 Passport size photo (write full name at the back and should be placed in plastic)
4. Form G325-A signed and dated (clip your picture on this form)
5. Photocopy of the biographical data of your passport.
6. NBI Clearance (supporting document)

Since I am here in the Philippines, my husband just asked for scanned copies of these documents.
***make a copy of the entire package you sent as a back up****
Mail your package to USCIS.  Visit their official website to search for an office close to your area.

Your all set and dont forget to pray for approval.  For us it took 2 weeks before we received the 1st Notice of Approval (NOA1).

Watch out for my next blog about my Medical exams experience at St. Luke's Ermita.

GOOD LUCK everyone!
